The UCSC Agro-ecology Farm is the centerpiece of a research and education group at the University. Their goal is to research, develop, and advance sustainable food and agricultural sustems which are environmentally sound, economically viable, and socially responsible. Visitors can see true “state of the art” sustainable agricultural systems developed from Alan Chadwick’s pioneering efforts started in 1967 at the Chadwick Garden. (see Next)

However, there are many beautiful hiking and cycling trails across meadows and through the redwoods. All are open to the public.
